UST Removal Process
The presence of a UST on your property warrants specific and timely attention. Understand the management process from start to finish and get help from Aegis Environmental.
First, locate the UST on the property and the records pertaining to the storage tank installation or past repairs and maintenance. Then, our team notifies the appropriate government agency about the planned work.
The physical process of tank removal comes next. It is cleaned using carefully applied and approved methods, loaded, and moved to an appropriate disposal site.
The next step is to assess any environmental impact of the UST or removal process. We collect soil samples from beneath the UST’s former location and any present pipes or dispenser fixtures. These are tested to ensure compliant levels in conjunction with state and local rules. If levels are higher than allowed, additional steps are taken. These include full investigation of the site and possible environmental remediation services. This often includes mass soil removal and safe disposal.
Finally, Aegis will complete all communications and necessary documentation with government agencies. This includes a full UST removal report that covers project research, removal process, sample testing, and remediation if necessary.
