Bruce Bultman
President & Principal Geologist
Bruce is the President and Principal Geologist of Aegis Environmental. Bruce has 38 years of environmental consulting experience with a diverse background in Hydrogeology, Site Characterization, Risk Assessment, Plume Stability Evaluation, Remediation Design and Implementation, In Situ Soil and Groundwater Treatment Technologies, and Regulatory Negotiations.
Bruce’s professional experience spans multiple industries. Bruce has extensive experience in investigating, remediating, and closing projects in the petroleum industry. He has worked at refineries, pipelines, bulk storage facilities, terminals, and numerous service stations. Bruce has overseen many projects involving the assessment and remediation of chlorinated solvents, metals, and other contaminants at manufacturing and industrial facilities.
For many years, outside of work, Bruce enjoyed walks, playtime, and training with Piper; the two were a registered therapy team through Pet Partners and best of friends. He enjoys spending time with his family and his dog, Maddie, tending to his five chickens, fishing, traveling, and volunteering in his community.
Jane Bultman
Director of Business Development
Jane is the Director of Business Development at Aegis Environmental, where she collaborates on business growth initiatives, enhances the company’s digital presence, and cultivates client relationships. She oversees Aegis Environmental’s social media strategy and collaborates with others to ensure the company website remains current, informative, and valuable to visitors through relevant, engaging content.
Before joining Aegis Environmental, she enjoyed a successful career in education and pharmaceutical sales, experiences that strengthened her communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
Jane’s favorite parts of working at Aegis are building meaningful relationships with her colleagues, finding creative ways to motivate and support the team, and helping new employees feel welcome and confident throughout the onboarding process.

James Hoover
Hazardous Materials Manager
James is the Michigan City, Indiana, Branch Office Manager and Senior Project Manager with Aegis Environmental. James has been employed at Aegis since November 2001. James earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Management from Indiana University in 2000. James is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM #14350), has been certified by the State of Indiana in underground storage tank decommissioning, is a licensed asbestos inspector in Indiana and Michigan, is a State of Michigan Certified Underground Storage Tank Professional (CP) #1145, and maintains current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety training certificates.
As a Senior Project Manager, James is responsible for overall project coordination, implementing/overseeing remedial technologies, managing subcontractors, meeting all site reporting requirements, budget management, invoicing, and maintaining strong communication with clients and regulators. In addition, James has a technical background in environmental due diligence, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, environmental assessments, remedial action and risk assessments, and remediation system operation and maintenance, and spill/emergency response.
James enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children at their family cottage in Grand Beach, Michigan. James enjoys sailing, water skiing, mountain biking, road biking, and home improvement projects.
Mya Smith
Project Manager
Mya has over 4 years of experience in environmental project management. She provides consultation services to diverse clients, including residential clients, development companies, and industrial manufacturing facilities. Mya is responsible for project coordination from fruition to completion, subcontractor management, and transparent communication with clients. In her current position, she conducts Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Subsurface Investigations, asbestos inspections and abatement oversight, lead-based paint inspections, mold and indoor air quality inspections, water sampling, and storage tank closures. She maintains her OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and 10-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health certification and is a licensed asbestos inspector, lead inspector, and primary radon tester in Indiana.

Leslie Rardin
Administrative Assistant
Leslie is the Administrative Assistant at Aegis Environmental. She is responsible for answering incoming calls, CAD, preparing reports, filing, and providing IT support. Among many other office tasks, she “keeps the ball rolling. ”
After spending several years at home with her children, she joined the Aegis team in 2018. Leslie previously worked for Rolls-Royce as a buyer. Working for Aegis has allowed her to utilize and expand her skills in a professional environment again. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, volunteering, and watching various sports.
Logan Mocherman
Project Manager
Logan began his career at Aegis as a Project Manager after graduating from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Geology. He is building his career in environmental consulting, with a strong interest in hydrogeology, environmental compliance, and field operations.
Dedicated to expanding his technical expertise and practical experience, Logan supports a variety of environmental and project management initiatives. He is especially eager to gain hands-on experience with Phase 1 Site Assessments and asbestos building inspections.

Adam Herrmann
Project Manager
Adam has over 25 years of experience in environmental project management. Adam earned a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from Ball State University in 2001. Adam has lived and worked as an environmental consultant in Nevada, New York, and Indiana, and has performed environmental services in Alaska, Utah, Washington, Vermont, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Alabama, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
As a Senior Project Manager, Adam is responsible for overall project coordination, meeting all site reporting requirements, budget management, invoicing, and maintaining strong communication with clients and regulators. Piper
Scent Specialist
Piper was an English cream retriever born in the fall of 2012 in Westfield, Indiana. Piper lived in Greenwood, Indiana, with her family. While she was a family member first and foremost, her primary duty at Aegis Environmental was detecting petroleum through scent. Piper completed basic obedience and scent training. She enjoyed spending afternoons in the office, strolling through Independence Park, her neighborhood, and lying in the sun. Piper was a registered therapy pet through Pet Partners and retired from that role in 2022. She participated in the Morris Animal Foundation Golden Retriever Lifetime Health Project for 10 years, completing her commitment to helping goldens everywhere live healthier, longer lives. Piper passed away on December 21, 2025. She will remain in our hearts forever.
